Point of Care Ultrasound
V
Time: 0800 – 1200.
Learn the fundamentals of point of care ultrasound and the eFAST scan from senior Sonographers at Christchurch Hospital. This four-hour workshop will cover the basics of sonography and apply this knowledge with hands-on learning in the extended Focussed Assessment with Sonography in Trauma (eFAST) with live models. Come ready in relaxed clothes to be scanned.

Moulage SFX
Time: 1300 – 1700.
In this intensive workshop, you will:
Master the basics of special effects makeup: Learn to create realistic wounds, bruises, burns, and scars.
Work with professional materials: Gain experience with wax, Silicone, latex, FX gel, and alcohol paints.
Learn “out-of-the-kit” techniques: Discover fast and effective methods for creating convincing SFX looks.
Explore casualty simulation/moulage: Develop skills used in emergency response training, film and tv.
Bring your own:
Water bottle
Wear old clothes (things might get messy!)
Baby wipes/face cloths
Notepad/camera
About the Instructor:
Yolanda Bartram, Director and CEO of MEDICFX, has a background in film and television make-up artistry, where she’s won multiple awards for her work. This experience has given her a unique understanding of how important it is for medical simulations to look realistic. As a silicone technician and moulage expert, she creates detailed models that accurately reproduce the complexities of the human body, helping students to confidently improve their skills.
