DARK+WOODS is a four day medical training course, designed and executed by the pioneers of Prolonged Field Care (PFC). With a focus on PFC and austere intervention, this course is designed to accomplish multiple high value objectives while streamlining efficiency.
The program covers PFC critical tasks, Joint Trauma System PFC clinical practice guidelines and provides a foundation for more advanced and continuing medical training.
Who should attend: Any military medic, medical officer or nursing officer who is expected to conduct high-risk operations in medically austere environments that must be prepared to provide ongoing patient care for an extended duration. Individuals may attend this course, but training with your team is highly recommended.
Designed for advanced providers, this certification trains the independent practitioner to apply advanced clinical decision making skills and expands on a broad foundation of knowledge By applying advanced monitoring, diagnostics and resuscitation as close to the point of injury or illness as possible, the goal is to enhance survivability and decrease risk through evidence-based best practice in the most austere situations. This is the skill set the austere provider has been searching for to enable survival of the most critical patients over time.
Who should attend: Paramedics, Nurse Practitioners, Doctors and any independent practitioner who treats patients for prolonged periods of time in austere, remote and wilderness settings.
